Responsibilities of the School Custodian:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles and dispose of trash.
- Sanitize and maintain restrooms ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of events and activities.
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues.
- Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure efficient and thorough cleaning operations.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure environment.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
Requirements for the School Custodian position:
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for both day (9 am - 5:30 pm) and night (3:30 pm - midnight) shifts.
